For my high school graduation, I decked out my grad cap with an LED Matrix. This matrix could be used to display GIFs and I added an IR sensor so that I could control it with a remote. I used a 32x32 RGB Led Matrix with a 6mm pitch. It was controlled by a Teensy 3.1 soldered onto a SmartMatrix SD shield. Here is a short, 1.5 minute, video showing the final result.
